New Mercedes C63 AMG To Offer Extra Potent S-Model: Report
AMG’s S-Models offers a bit of extra potency for its already hardcore vehicles. The current E63 AMG S-Model, for example, offers 577 horsepower while the standard E63 AMG makes do with 550 horses. Similarly, Carsguide is reporting that the new C63 AMG S-Model will deliver 503 hp, the current highest output of AMG’s new 4.0-liter mill, while the standard C63 AMG will deliver 470 hp. Both versions are expected to have the same torque output.
This will make the new C63 AMG quite the performer, as the numbers exceed the output of the outgoing model, rated at 451 hp in standard form and 500 hp in the limited Edition 507 model, and the car's expected curb weight will be lower than that of its predecessor thanks to Mercedes' lightweight MRA platform.
A debut of the new C63 AMG is scheduled to take place later this year, either at the 2014 Paris Auto Show in October or at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show the following month. The Paris event is also where we’ll get our first look at the new Mercedes-AMG GT. Incidentally, the new sports car will also come in standard and S-Model flavors.
