W205 Mercedes C63 Hits the 'Ring, Sounds Meh
Personally, I think it sounds good, but it’s missing something. It’s missing the raucous noise that previously made AMG engines distinct. This new engine sounds an awful lot like BMW’s or Audi’s; it’s just missing the same character it once had. Hopefully some of the Mercedes tuners, like Brabus or Renntech will decide to go the way of the Challenger Hellcat and cut out the mufflers completely and just install a butterfly valve to make it sound a bit beefier.

WAYYYYYY more importantly than the sound - AWD anyone?
All I can say is that I hope the new C63 DOESN'T sound like the new M3/M4
+ 1 Could not agree more
With the right exhaust system it will sound totally awesome
I am absolutely certain that anyone who has had any experience with a twin turbo V8 will never say that the overall aural experience does not sound fantastic.
As per a previous thread I have an N/A LS1 powered vehicle with a high flow sport exhaust, a friend has exactly the same fitted with an APS twin turbo kit and both the exhaust and engine noises are absolutely fantastic and more hair raising than the N/A motor and IMHO it also sounds much better than a N/A C63 as well.
I've also witnessed a Lexus IS-F fitted with a twin turbo kit and there's no comparison with the noises coming out of that thing compared to the N/A vehicle.
I have no doubt that a lot of people are going to change their minds when they finally get a hold of the new AMG TT V8 engines, not only the sound especially from inside the cabin but also the massive torque and power advantage as well - and yes AWD will be a desirable feature or option

Looks bad a$$ too
There is alot more going with with a TT setup on fuel/cooling/tuning/AFR/Timing....... I'll reserve judgement until after these run for 30K+ miles..... trouble free.
Now I will have to say once the tuners get their hands on a TT AMG..... it could be very interesting.
Haven't you seen the W205 C63 spy photos? The W205 C63 will have an A-Wing front splitter, just like the new S63 Coupe and E63 4MATIC.
Here is the C63:

No official photos have been released. You won't see any until September, at the very earliest.

You are right. It doesn't sound that good, but compared to other Tt setups from other companies, I think it may be the best of the sorry lot.
I am probably going XFR just for that reason, the sound when it is time to leave my 507. It is a good car as well and 30K less than an E63.
On a side note, how does MBWorld hire an "editor" (the guy that posted this thread and the article on the front page) that uses a photo of the standard W205 C-Class, instead of a spy photo or a render of the actual W205 C63?
Also, in another article by a MBWorld staff member, the writer said that the W205 C63 would be receiving the 5.5L biturbo V8, instead of the 4.0L biturbo V8.
MBWorld, no offense to these guys, but they are doing some lazy, lazy, lazy "journalism," if you can call it that.
IT seems like if you want a truly good sounding car you gotta go American. All german cars are going turbo.
We are seeing spy videos of a car being filmed from 100+ yards away (in some instances).
I'll reserve judgment until I can hear it in person. The F80/F82 M3/M4 sounded like crap on video. In person, however, it sounds like a truly special car. For a turbocharged 6-cylinder, it is plenty loud and there are all sorts of burbles, crackles, and pops when upshifting, downshifting, and letting off the throttle.
The induction noise is awesome too. That's something you just don't get with a NA motor.
