First review that chose the M3
So there was finally a review that chose the M3
It was posted on F80 post. I just think its funny. You guys will get a good laugh out of it if anything. Some of the things people said on there

Everytime I hear a M3/4 go by I am astounded why BMW didn't work on the exhaust like AMG did. For any gearhead the sound is on top of the list as it is for me. The M3 interior is old, boring and outdated so the conclusion is

The M4 is a great car. The drivers are just a bit delusional.

Nothing wrong with the M3/M4. Great car. It sounds like a vaccum cleaner but that doesn't make the car bad.
I prefer the C63 because it drives like an axe murderer with headlights. The M3/4 is more polished but not as entertaining. As a track car, the M3 is much better. But pretty much everywhere else, the C63 has the edge.
I prefer the manual in the M than the MCT, in the AMG. However around town the MCT does a great job. On the highway it will downshift from 7th to 3rd just by pushing the pedal all the way down. Very efficient. Not as fun, but it has some pluses.
Overall, it's good we have choices and the competition is why we have such great machines that will seat 4 comfortably and will run neck to neck against my dream cars as a boy (F40/Diablo) to 100mph. No bad choices here.

Here I was ready and eager to read an official proper objective review which is contrary to every official review so far of the W205 C63 vs F80 M3/4 but discovered it's a subjective personal review - disappointing
I suppose everybody or individual is entitled to their own opinion but have to say with some of the comments written this person has made themselves look a little
Does anyone have or found an actual official review that favours the new M's over the AMG ?? would certainly be curious and good to know where and how if anything at all the M is better than the AMG.

Why would you go from a c63 sedan to a m4 coupe?
In a lot of the reviews they compare the new c63 to a m4. Shouldn't the c63 be compared to a M3.
I am sure the C63 coupe is going to be better on the track then the sedan.

The C63S is probably a better well rounded car. It's gonna be really great on the track but that's what the M is made for.

F30 335 xdrive, retired - W204 C63

skidpad, C&D just tested the M3 at 0.99g, the last C63 was 0.88g
The M3 has always handled better than the C63.
They really are different cars, The M3 has always been a bit more of a track car and the C63 a bit more of a road car. Although Mercedes is blurring the lines now.
I owned a W204 C63 and currently have a F30 335i, on the fence for my next car, but if Mercedes isn't discounting and it will cost $2,400 for a maintenance plan, the M3 will be $6,000-$7,000 cheaper assuming their sticker prices are similar. that's not pocket change (well not for most of us).

So when someone says that the C63 will perform a "a little bit better" than the M3... they are not talking about the W204 C63.
The W204 skid pad result has absolutely nothing to do with the W205.
So to answer your question.

I think there are a good number of people who will choose the M3 over the C63 primarily because the C63 doesn't have a manual or DCT. Transmission is key in driver involvement and AMG seems to get that with their choice of transmission for the GT. That being said, I think the C63 beats the M3 in almost all other metrics (other than looks which is totally subjective).
