Order Process
At what point in the process should you get something that is basically "proof" that the order is in the system? Was told novemberish production on my order from early July, curious if there is something available that would confirm this.

He/she should be able to produce 3 separate pieces of tracking info. The first should be your PO# or build-sheet. If you optioned the car yourself, you should have gotten or asked for a copy. Based on that sheet, you will be provided 2 hard dates after that. One, will be the production date and the second will be the ship date. It is a very simple process and a lot of fun, if you like to geek-out on that. And since you want "proof", there it is. If you didn't get this info, go ask you SP for a print-out of your PO.

I ordered my C63s on May 14 and my build was Aug 2nd decade. (first decade is first 10 days of month, 2nd decade days 11-20, 3rd decade 21-31)
Dealer e-mailed me on July second that it went yellow and on July 10 that it went red. A few days later I was told the build date is Aug 14.

Question to piggy back on this thread.
1. What's considered normal deliver miles? I figured anything over 40 miles probably means it was test driven by customers but what about a car with 35 miles.
2. I put down an order and a deposit for my car. If I can't take delivery due to being out of town would the dealership still let other people test drive it? I'd obviously prefer people not driving a car I put a deposit down on.

I have a long history with my dealership and the saleman I deal with. They would never let anyone else drive my car (except as needed for dealership prep). I have a standing procedure with them - they do not wash my cars or even remove the plastic sheeting - I like to do that myself.

This is what I'm afraid of right now. Dealership currently has no inventory for this car and mine will probably be the first one they've gotten in 2-3 months.

When I went to the dealer to service my current c350 they had a c63s sitting in the showroom. I had already placed a deposit on one but one of the managers handed me the keys and said have a lil spin in it. I treated the car with respect and stayed below the 4000 rpm as suggested for break-in. I was told that several employees had taken the car for a spin though before me.
