Probably not necessary. I believe the cooling system continues to operate after the engine is shut off. In general, I believe most modern turbo cars are designed to protect the turbos such that turbo timers are no longer necessary.

I don't really think one is necessary for stock cars. The car cools itself by running the fans after you shut it off. Give it a good flogging and put it in the garage, you'll hear it.

Saying that, I installed a floor fan in front of the car with a 30min countdown timer to help promote airflow (with the garage door cracked open a bit). It gets REALLY hot in the garage so this appears to help. The car's fans used to run for almost an hour, now 30 mins is average.

The only question, which we can't easily verify, is whether the C63 continues to circulate its coolant after shut down. I suspect it does as running the cooling fans without circulating coolant would be ineffective. And we know the fans do run after engine shutdown.

If indeed the coolant does circulate, then it will cool the turbo bearings and prevent the oil in the turbos from coking which is what killed turbos in the old days.

Correct - turbo timers are only needed for older turbo cars

It's a thing of the past (and not necessarily needed on most vehicles back then as well) and totally redundant on modern turbo powered cars - both petrol and diesels.
