At the AMG track day they set up 1/8 mile drag strip to practise race start using AMG E & CLS class. In Australia we are disadvantaged with only rear wheel drive on these AMG's due to technical problems swapping to our right hand steering location.
With race start you could feel the motor having power pulled out of it to stop rear wheel spin as the traction control intervened. The coaches said if you can do 9.0sec using race start that is really good. I left off race start & coordinated releasing the brake with squeezing the accelerator & achieved 7.8 sec virtually every time which was not occurring using race start & you also could achieve the desired reaction time with the lights.
