Anyone? Piggy back tune results from Rebellion Stage 1 Tune or VR Racing Tune
Thinking of purchasing as I don't like to "tinker" with ECUs and appreciate the piggy back approach.
Thanks all...
Wife drives the car 2 days a week. She has no idea its tuned, a v8, or a biturbo lol. The car is docile and well mannered enough for my wife to daily drive and Hooooooooooligan enough that i can whip *** and take names if need be.
about the tune - rethink everything you know about the gas pedal, it is no longer an On/Off switch of fun, it requires finesse and modulation. However once the pedal dance is mastered, the reward is a tidal wave of torque and acceleration. Make no mistake about it, you will fill the increase in torque in the low range, and around 6k rpm the HP is also very noticeable.
My last performance car was an '03 Cobra - ported supercharger with upper and lower pulley, cold air, long tubes and straight pipes, blah blah blah blah blah, it laid down 575whp and was an absolutely animal. On drag radials the car was 11.30s in daily driver trim. I am almost positive the AMG would destroy my old Cobra with no contest.
oh yeah i went to a new dealer today to have my coolant level topped off, forgot to unplug the piggyback. Tech found the piggyback immediately (its mounted near the coolant tank lol). Service advisor stated as long as there were no malfunctions or failures directly related to tune that it is a non-issue.
Hope this helps
Getting ready to pull the trigger - like the descriptions you are giving. Either will buy the VR racing / Rebellion unit depending on who's price is better.
Thanks again....

I spoke to AMR guy, they have a handheld block for 2019 e450 for $2000. I am not an engineer, so I am bringing our conversation in my own words. He states that their block is better than other cheaper products because they are doing more adjustments, and the cheaper products do less and are dangerous, they can harm the engine.
What are the differences between those racechip, amr, weistec, renntech and others?
Only time I had this tune done was for a 2016 e400 Cabrio. I contacted OE tuning, sent them my ECU block and got it back reprogrammed in few days. Costed me around $1300. They stated hp gain of 20% to stock 333hp. I have no clue how many hp I got added, but the car drove much better and faster after.
