Anyone know when the MY17 C63S coupe will be out?
I've been thinking of picking up a new AMG. Thought of the GTS, etc., but then caught a glimpse of the '17 C63S coupe and I'm smitten, I think. Some articles say availability August or Summer of '16, is that right? I also saw Spring. Man, that's a good looking car...

So you think just because it's the introduction of the coupe that it'll be August? And the W205 was introduced in Spring because it was the complete facelift?

Well they said that the coupe would begin as a 2017 model if I remember correctly. MB usually begin production of their next year models in first week of August of the current year. Since C classes are built in United States, that means some lucky people in US can receive their models end of August.
The 2015 W205 non-AMG was introduced in North America in September 2014. They delayed the W205 C63 probably because they did wanted to steal any spotlight from the regular sedans (also perhaps needed more development time). Since the sedan is mainly marketed as a compact luxury car while C63 is marketed as a performance car, intro-ing them simultaneously may cause conflicting images.
However, they announced they would release the regular C205 coupes and C63 coupes at the same time. They are both being marketed as sporty cars so it makes sense for them to be in the showroom together.

My only gripe is that in the UK, unlike in Germany you can't get the edition 1's extended front splitter and more aggressive looking rear diffuser without having the whole edition 1 package (limited to 1 interior choice and all those body decals). I'm also stuck with 19" rims up front and 20" at the rear (would've preferred 19s all around).

Yes I've paid my deposit but there still aren't any options/specs or pricing released in Australia yet. Hoping that won't be too far off. At this stage my order would be very similar to Trim105, however I'm not sure whether we will be getting that paint option down here. So might end up having to go with a Palladium Silver instead.

All the orders in Australia are more holding deposits than orders. We do not have pricing or ordering guides here, so no official orders placed. God knows when that will happen.
I was also told Q2 2016, but that doesn't look likely anymore, unless they start building in the next couple of weeks. Build time, delivery, Christmas/New Years holidays. I am expecting it more July/August now.

Not sure if dealer is lying to get me to actually walk in and place a deposit, but this is what I received from FJ today:
Great choice! The C63S Coupe! We are already taking orders. They are expected in about 2-3 months. Would you like to order one?
Eric Rosenthal
USAA & AAA Fleet Partner (Master Certified)
Fletcher Jones Motorcars
and then he followed up with this after I asked him if he's 100% sure about January 2016 delivery:
That’s when the 1st orders should hit us. Maybe a little sooner but the 1st batches are pre-sold.
Your best bet would be to place a deposit.

I think the key word there is "expected" so in other words it may end up not quite as expected with your Delivery time.
From all accounts on here it's 2nd to 3rd quarter 2016. I'm in Australian and have been estimated early 2nd quarter, which from what I've seen with the sedan could give you 1-2 months variance. Then again other people have received their's early so really how long is a piece of string?

That's interesting. I'm not keen on getting an edition 1 (assuming it has the body decals), and I also wonder if preordering or putting down a deposit totally eliminates the ability to negotiate price? Then the dealer knows they've got you locked in anyway, right, and so they have little rationale to reduce price. The reason I ask on this is I might trade in my '14 C63, and I'd like to get the best deal possible of course...
Only time will tell, however I think fletcher jones is lying on the delivery time. mbusa.com states "The new 2017 Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe arrives in the U.S in the summer of 2016."

Yup, that sounds fishy. But I also wonder if a few dealerships get advance availability to a few units. Does anyone know what "edition 1" units will be manufactured/delivered?

Spoke with another dealership and they stated the car will be here in 6-8 months (makes sense) and C63 S Coupe (non-ED1) will start at around $75K.
The sales person also confirmed that ED is available, however they simply don't have all the details yet.
