Gliding mode
I had C-mode selected together with start/stop on.
In downhill it went to "glide mode" with the sailing-boat symbol.
If you have a HUD the gear indicator will also disappear when in occurs.
It only happens in a certain speed window, but I forget what the lower and upper limits are.

But it is pretty easy to set up Individual setting like you want and after a start you just push dynamic control one push forward and your done.

As far as I understand the gliding mode, the clutches in the 9g-tronic are released / engaged - therefore it is not a question of the torque converter, but the gearbox, isn't it? At least it is done like that in the ZF 8h (Audi, BMW and so on). So actually one has to discuss, if gliding mode does increase wear on the transmission or not.
On early 7g-TronicPlus cars gliding mode was only available with the "MCT" ZF wet clutch (as the torque converter replacement) - i.e. hybrid cars. On later 7g-TronicPlus and 9g-Tronic cars (w205!), gliding was also available with torque converter and I doubt, that it is done via the converter.
