Auto-Hide Comand Craziness...

Auto-Hide Comand Craziness...
I swear on a stack of bibles that the climate control bar at the bottom of the Comand screen use to auto-hide like it does in Navi. When I make a change to it in Navi - it briefly appears then goes away. I'm almost certain it did this when I have 'Media' selected and I'm playing music from my iphone.
I was playing around with some of the adjustments and then noticed it didn't auto-hide in media anymore. Just got done looking at the manual and trying everything I could for the last hour to no avail. Now I'm starting to doubt myself and if it ever did auto-hide in media.
So - if someone would be kind enough to let me know how to remedy this or tell me I'm simply imagining it and it never did auto-hide in media. I would be most grateful.
