18" vs 19" wheels

After visiting mbworld for over a year, I finally purchased a Polar White C63S and I love it. I think that the 35 series tires on the 19" wheels ride too rough. I would like to get a 40 series tire. I know that you can get the 18" wheels on the non-S version, but are the brakes different on the S version? Is it possible to put the factory 18" wheels on the S version? Or, would a 40 series tire fit with the factory 19" wheels? I like the look of the factory wheels and I wouldn't want to go aftermarket. I have done an extensive amount of searching the site, but I didn't see this scenario discussed.

I have the non S but it came with the upgraded 19 inch wheels. Don't know if that answers your question. I believe the brakes are the same with the exception of the different color calipers and the only different brakes you can buy which is for the S are the carbon ceramics.

If I were you I would not be to quick to change. Drive it for a while and put the suspension in comfort all the time and see if it grows on you. I set up the individual to go to S+ in engine/trans. and Drive and Comfort for suspension with esp. on and loud exhaust.

The brakes on the S are larger dia. and 18s wont fit.

Given that the 18" wheels won't fit on the S version, would 40 series tires fit with the factory 19" wheels?

I don't think you will have a fit problem as it will be about 1 inch taller and speedo will be about 3 1/2 % slow.
