7 Reasons I'd Have A Mercedes-AMG C63 Over A BMW M3
However, there is a very significant additional reason and that is the respective stability control systems. On the US version of the M3, even in the more "lenient" mode, even the smallest sideways slip of the rear wheels causes immediate and extremely intrusive intervention. In short, it feels like the car has just thrown out a boat anchor because of the cut in throttle and potentially even the application of the brakes.
By contrast, on the C63s, even in full "nanny" mode the stability control is less extreme and less intrusive. In lenient mode, the C63s allows lots of fun sideways action before intervening.
This stability control issue was the last straw for me with my former M4. I had no idea the M4 could be so much fun until I turned off the stability control completely. However, I really did not want to drive around with no stability control on a regular basis. The C63s is much better balanced to the point where I see no need to turn off stability control and I can still have lots of fun with a safety net.
