If you can hang in there and not in a rush, then definitely wait for latter production C205 C63's to emerge particularly after the mid life update, there will definitely be better and more desirable variants to come later in the 205 model series, then you can decide whether to keep or upgrade from the C204 BS or better still you may be in a better position down the track to keep or have both

The last ten listings posted here from 2015 and earlier actually prove the point that these cars have bottomed out and are now slowly appreciating. Here are the cars available on AutoBlog today: http://www.autoblog.com/used-list/ma...G+Black+Series. The average here is higher than that in the sample you cited. The market is self-correcting so prices are, to a large extent, reflective of demand--especially in the retail context where there is a greater imperative to clear inventory. That lends the NADA figure greater legitimacy than a selection of examples you picked off a forum.

Finally, the notion that anyone is going to make a killing by investing in a CLK63 BS is a straw man. No one's made that claim. The issue here is whether they are appreciating and there's no doubt that they are. The fact that these were the first BS cars to make it stateside with a mere 350 examples strengthens the argument that they will eventually appreciate. Will they ever get back to their MSRP? Only time will tell. The point is that certain cars always end up bouncing back in value. We're seeing this exact trend with W113 and R107 SLs now. A mere 5-7 years ago one could have a Pagoda for under 30K and now they're selling for four times that.

Wouldn't rely on the BS being an "Investment." These cars are meant to be driven. That being said, there is nothing like N/A response and the sound is second to almost none.

Value: Not sure if the market will be super competitive as the Porsche (993, 964 etc) have gone up with the dying breed of enthusiast vehicles.

The 2016/7 C63S Coupe will tank in value in the next two years by comparison to the BS as these have likely slowed in terms of depreciation in the market Additionally, the LCI Model will make this current version less desirable in the secondary market. Always been a fan of the LCI models as they typically improved aesthetically and offer unique packages:

i.e. 2012 - 2015 W204 (more reliable, improved transmission mapping, improved interior, 507 Edition blah blah)

Now you're comparing a 40 year old Pagoda?

Disregarding forum sales by members only discredits your weak stance even further. Forum members car are usually better maintained and are extremely clean examples. Prices have not bottomed out or turned the corner.

5-7 years ago we were in the worst recession in current history.

Yeah, I think I'm with majority of the responses here when it comes to waiting and being patient. I love the BS I currently have and should have a bit more fun with it...especially since the Weistec goodies were installed no more than 2k miles ago, lol! (Unless I find the perfect R8 V10 Spyder I'm looking for!)

Question, when comparing markets, why do people bring up the CLKBS? It's not just this thread where that seems to be the common theme, I've seen others like that as well. I know you guys know your benz's well enough to tell I have a C63BS but we're talking about the market on the CLKBS...is that simply because it's been on the market a bit longer so you can judge depreciation a bit better?

If that's the case, weren't there a few more CLKBS produced than 2012-2013 C63BS and a few improvements made to the C63BS that would help how it depreciates/appreciates?

Either way, both epic cars and like a lot of you have said, you don't buy a car like this for an investment...it's meant to be driven! Now...if it will only stop snowing in MN so I can ! LOL.

I only brought it up because this guy started off by making the harebrained claim that a CLK63 BS that sold for $34K was representative of the market. I agree that your car will no doubt fare better in terms of value as it was the curtain call on that magnificent engine. Enjoy it once those roads clear up!

Thanks buddy! It looks like the 20dg weather should be 70dg by next Saturday! Gotta love spring in MN! lol.

Btw, I have to stop looking at pics of the new coupe. Damn that thing is sick! Then again, I look at pics of an AMG GTS...and want that. R8 Spyder, yup..want that. MP4-12C, those prices are coming down, soooo, I want that, lol!

Car struggles are real!

Are you selling your car or not?

You have your car listed under the classified section with an asking price then you put up this post which implies you aren't sure what you are going to do. Please make up your mind and stick with it. You have a nice car, keep it if you love it. We can't help you make up your mind.

Hey buddy! I think I've said this a few times but maybe not in this thread...however I know I said it in my FS thread, if I find the right R8 V10 Spyder, I'll definitely sell it.

This thread on the other hand was to get a bit more insight on the new C63 AMG.

Harebrained? This internet thing seems new to you.

$34k is not representative of the market but it does reflect where it can go. Nothing you stated shows appreciation. All the cars that are $50-60k were $70-80K two years ago.

No reflection on C63BS.....but a pretty accurate reference point.

I would wait one year then buy a slightly used Coupe.
