We have 1700 option for 3 yr prepaid scheduled maintenance. It covers 3 schedule maintenances.
Would it cover brakes? That could be worth it.
Do you have to go to dealer for maintenance?

Federal law allows maintenance anywhere. But you have to prove the use of correct procedures and parts. Many go to independent shops specializing in MB, or do it yourself. I recently went to dealer for service b, it was less than 400, and since I am under warranty wanted to maintain my perception of good will if needed. May also help with roadside assistance if needed. But when I was younger I did most of my own maintenance on new cars to avoid the stealership. Does not cover brakes I believe.

I believe there was a thread about this a number of months ago that went into a lot of detail. May want to do a search. IMO MB's prepaid maintenance package is really not much of a deal - maybe saves 10% max. To me it made no sense giving them money now for a 10% savings so I decided to just pay as I go.
