Owners who bought new. Any regrets?

Hello, new user here looking for some advice!

Tomorrow I may be going to my local dealer to put an order for a new c63s coupe. I love everything about the car. I've been thinking about it since it was unveiled.

My hesitance comes from the fact that I've never driven a Mercedes Benz (or any other luxury/sports car fwiw), I won't probably take it to the tracks much (or at all) and I'm afraid I might feel out of love since it may be "too much of a car" for me (I currently drive a Subaru Forester).

Money is not an issue, so that's not much of a variable here. Its price point + maintenance costs feels like what I can spend without caring much about depreciation.

I guess this is mostly a question for those who have bought a new AMG car and feel identified. Any regrets about your purchase?

c63 is my second amg and no regrets since my first one. If you can afford it, go for it and enjoy the heck out of it.

Also had few BMWs and currently have a x6m. But love the c63 more than my x6m.

Buying new def beats buying used. First off, I wouldnt trust used cars because they're on used lot for a reason, perhaps the previous owner uncovered problems that he cannot bear with the car. Second, used performance cars are more often driven aggressively and abused by a previous owner. Third, I want to be the first person to fart in those seats or anywhere in the car for that matter :p

No regrets. Money is meant to be spent for personal happiness, if it makes you happy then it was worth it, happiness is priceless.

You should spend more time behind the wheel of an Amg first .. Go test drive one and see how you feel

No regrets at all for me! I picked my C63s Coupe 2 week ago and I'm 110% in love with it.

It's my first Mercedes and first powerful/performance car but that hasn't been an issue, its very drivable and easy to handle which is what I love about it the most; you can cruise along in it at a surprising level of comfort, but put your foot down and it becomes an absolute beast (even in comfort mode).

I left a review of mine in the selenite grey coupe thread (its towards the end of the linked page):

Might be useful if you want more insight Hope that helped.

My c63s sedan is my first Mercedes and first AMG. I have had no regrets what so ever. I drove a mini countryman before. I had muscle cars back in the 80s. Its my daily driver and it puts a smile on my face every time i drive it.

I get a lot of compliments but the majority of people just think its a nice looking Mercedes Benz. I enjoy when an enthusiast stops me to talk as they truly understand how fast the car actually is... I love being able to push a button and all of a sudden the car starts to breath fire!

Enjoy your money and go for it... I am sure you will be pleased.

Thank you, everyone! This morning I went to the dealer I've been talking about ordering. They want $15-$20K above MSRP for the car . Luckily there are plenty of dealers in Northern California to deal with.

Made another post asking if that's normal. It seems like it isn't. https://mbworld.org/forums/c43-amg-c...63s-coupe.html

I loved my c63s edition one. But just got an engine light which point towards as the engine has a misfire. i want to keep the car after my lease end, but now I have my doubts.

Is engine misfire a serious issue? I contacted the dealership but they didn't bother to diagnosis my car till next Friday....

Anyone input would be appreciated. Thank you

I'd say if depreciation isn't a concern, then get used. I didn't track mine until about the 5th month of ownership. Even then, it's definitely a completely different driving experience.

The "too much car" idea is a pretty dated one. I believe it comes from back when the powerful cars had little to no safety systems. These days the safety systems will save you long before anything dangerous happens.

I think the only reason I can think of someone regretting the C63S is if car experienced massive reliability problems, or if the car depreciated far more than expected.

I'm in Northern CA too. May I ask what dealer? I'm currently working with a couple to see what car they can find me.

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
Of course, you can use your money whichever way you like to make yourself happy. For me, I have only bought one car new and that was 23 years ago and I would never do it again. I would rather have someone else take the depreciation hit, ie -15%, the moment it was driven new out of the dealership. Fortunately, there are plenty out there willing to get hit with the depreciation to make things more affordable for me.

With 3.9% interest and 12% off list (this is in the UK for a pre-registered, already built C63 non-S), plus higher than market value for my part-ex, hell no do I regret it! Especially now the running in period has come to an end!

I have bought new and used cars. It sounds like a new car under warranty is what you want. The most important component is the dealership where you buy your car. The dealer that I bought my car from has been fantastic!! I live in Nor Cal.

Can you share or PM me which dealer? I'm very close to pulling the trigger and would like a dealer to find a car that is as close as possible to the options that I want (almost all of them) without ordering and give a fair deal.

FYI, I'm in the Sacramento area

Miserly mpg, exhibitionist torque (i.e. Q5 TDI)
OP -- by "never driven a Mercedes Benz" do you mean you haven't even test driven a C63? If so, you should, unless its utterly impossible, take one for a thorough test drive before you plunk down a deposit. Buying one without a long test drive first would be absolutely foolish. You don't need to try a C63 coupe -- a sedan will tell you what you need to know. But don't buy one cold turkey. I can't tell you how many times I fell in love with a car on paper only to test drive it and find it didn't really mesh with what I wanted.

as the guys on here put it, sit behind the wheel of an AMG and you'll not regret it ! and as e9210610 suggested, if you can afford it, buy it and enjoy the heck out of it !
