not true -- happens on w212 e63 and e63s we well

this is from multiple reports from other owners on the forum as well as my brake pads in the rear are wearing down faster than my front brake pads and I have about 15,000 miles on my car

Dasani, How aggressive do you drive and Hy vs City? Dealer says the pads are about 12 mm new and the yellow dash light comes on at 2 mm.
5mm to go should get you over 25,000 miles to replacement. I could live with that.

[QUOTE=Dasani;6921049]I just had my 20000 mile service done. Among other things, they check the thickness of the brake pads - the front had 8mm remaining and the rear had 5mm remaining.[/QUOTE

I had a service at 7000 miles and the fronts were 8mm and the rears 6mm

I drive 65 miles each way to work, roughly 50 highway and 15 city miles.

I use the adaptive cruise control as much as possible, so the car is constantly slowing down and speeding up on its own.

I have a tune and downpipes so the loud pedal is used generously. However I don't drive like an idiot, ie: trying to drift or slide the car around.

I stand corrected. Maybe I should rephrase and say: Why are all the new AMGs eating rear pads like crazy? Is it because of the e-diff maybe?

Personally, out of all the 5 cars I owned since 2011, this is the only car where I had this issue.

If it's any use, my non-S at 3k miles has 8mm front and 9mm back. I don't know what the pads had new though. Not 12mm I hope, as I do mainly highway!

So, as I'm still waiting to hear back from MB, my car is getting a wrap at another shop. I had them quickly check my pads and they're saying that my rear pads are fine. Only the front are worn.
