I just spoke to my dealer. Apparently this affected 10 cars and that MBUSA is working on a solution for all of us.

Don't let them off the hook cheaply for either the folding mirrors or the backup camera as it is just hard to believe they are so clueless to do either.
I see $2k min.

Did they give you a timeline for a response back? In your opinion in your case, what kind of resolution would you be willing to accept?

Did anyone with a E1 not get power folding mirrors? Also, I believe it's standard equipment on the C63 Coupe.

i don't think it's a matter of can or can't..more like will or will not. me personally, i wouldn't accept anything less than what was agreed to in the purchase

I would ask your dealer for some compensation. The lack of HUD in mine (which I've knew about a long time before delivery) bothered me for quite awhile but now I have the car it just doesn't bother me, I almost (but not quite) rate the smooth dash over the usefulness of the HUD lol..

I have a very tiny vibration rattle from the drivers door but it isn't enough for me (at the moment) to report it.

My mats look consistent with the rest of the interior, they just look like carpet and I think they have a yellow AMG logo on them. If you need me to take any pics let me know!

Perhaps a silly question but can you manually fold in the mirrors? If so, I wouldn't worry about it.

They did not give a time frame. And to be honest, not quite sure yet on what I think would be acceptable.

If I was in your situation, the acceptable situations would be to either retrofit it at no charge, let them keep that car and order another one while you have a loaner (or a discount on the price), or a LARGE discount on price.

If they refused to give any of these, I would demand a full refund of the car. If you push like that I'm sure they'll be open to making up for this mistake.

I think you are correct that they will want to make it right as it is already financed and probably registered and they will not want to unwind all that and have a used car on their hands if it has been registered.
That will be a problem and expensive for them so why not give you a very substantial refund.

Beautiful car. That would be a deal killer for me. I have a very narrow garage, and power folding mirrors are a must. I was close on a Hellcat, but having to pull in mirrors every time I got home would have gotten old very quick (especially at night in the rain).

you have to order the premium 2 or 3 package to get the power folding mirrors on the coupe.

also, all edition 1s in the united states, as far as i know, come standard with premium 2 package (meaning the power folding mirrors are standard) and the full-led headlamps.

sorry to hear that you didn't get the power folding mirrors, op. i use the power folding mirrors whenever i squeeze my car into my garage, and it's lovely. can't imagine the pain of not having it.

The button is missing on top of the adjuster switch on the driver's door panel, and there is no option in the settings to have them fold when locking the car. Any experience with this? Also, the floor mats are a rough, cheap-feeling carpet, almost plastic and not plush at all. Is that standard?
Hi, just wondering that you going to do next? I think re-order a new one is better right?

After one month, my dealer has agreed to "try" to retrofit the mirrors. It should be possible based on my research, from other MB models. It's a matter of figuring out what parts are needed for the mirrors and door switch, and how to get the coding completed so the car's software recognizes the feature. Currently, the door switch part is not available to order in the US or Germany, according to my dealership last Friday. Hoping to get more of an update this week. MBUSA has been no help. I'm planning to write a letter expressing my frustration and asking for compensation in addition to a promise to continue working on the retrofit option.

I got a same issue here, have you considered about getting refund and order it again? Also, MBUSA didn't provide any solutions?

I was given two options in the few days that followed me taking delivery of the car (I didn't notice the issue until I got home that night, after I signed the paperwork). I could 1) take $1,000 credit, or 2) give them back the car, get back into my BMW I had just traded in, and wait for a new C63 S coupe to be ordered, built and delivered (~3+ months lead time). I did not except either of those two options since in the meantime, I found enough research and got feedback from another forum member to convince me the retrofit should be possible on my car. MBUSA has not followed-up with me even once, and when I escalated last week to them, they said I need to be working directly with my dealer. My dealer's hands are somewhat tied though. He's working every angle he knows how to, but ultimately needs support from MBUSA on the retrofit solution. I blame MBUSA for not working more proactively to ensure this is resolved or at least moving forward timely. I mentioned to my dealer Friday I'm planning to write a letter to MBUSA, and he agreed that's probably my best move at this point.

That is very good for you, at least your dealership provided all the options you could possibly have for you to choose from. For me, I will only accept the refund and order it again since it is not the car that I customized anymore. And yes, Im planning to write a letter to MBUSA as well. Thank you for all the info. I really appreciate it, and I am glad that you got the solution that you are satisfied with.

I would ask for an extended warranty or take the $1000 for the hassle of all of this, and STILL force them to retrofit the vehicle. I am going to do the same thing. They took off $150 from the MSRP of the car, which I will happily pay to add the mirrors back onto the vehicle as I had originally ordered, if it turns out that a retrofit is, in fact, possible. MBUSA told me that it is not possible. I, however, do not believe that.

You should push for more. My salesman reports MBUSA has approced 4 years of pre-paid maintenance. Comes out to around 2500. I think that's fair.

I actually don't disagree, but he should take something. I took a 25K + 1 YEAR extended MBUSA factory, bumper to bumper warranty. Basically extended the new vehicle warranty a year and 25K miles. I didn't want the maintenance because I am either doing it myself or I'm going to have an Indy shop do it, for half the price. I figured the warranty was far more valuable.

Nevertheless, hope they resolve this with a retrofit!
