Knocking on Front Passenger Corner
Hey Guys,
So, I've only had my car for about 2 weeks, and now I noticed that there is a knocking sound when I go over bumps, and the engine restarts on the Stop/Start. Have't had the time to notify the dealer as I've been pretty busy. But just wondering if you guys have experienced this problem. Oh... And I can usually hear when turning left, but not turning right. Seems odd to me.
Any insight would be grateful. I plan on going to dealer soon.

Was just about to tell them to use 3m tape and velcro a patch on the hard shell of the sports seats where the belt buckle hits. And right, with passenger on no knocking. Just clip the belt in and ride around and you'll see there is no weird knocking. I think the mysterious rattles, knocks and sights of weird things can all be simply explained.

anyway, I don't deny that its very hard to locate, and it might not work easily, took me a while to do it, but I gave up cuz every time rides and wears the seatbelt I have to attach it again and it just keeps going on if you understand what I mean

I have the same "rattle" issue coming from the passenger seat area, but haven't had time to locate the source. Makes sense that it's the seat belt. I've put 700 miles on the car, and this started happening about 2 days ago, after I had a passenger.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Its the seatbelt buckle hitting the chair. By the way I think SBH- is joking about the mysterious magnet and you are all falling for it. I have those same seats but no magnet I can find. Tie a piece of mitt around the buckle it's easily reversible too.

Behold, the mysterious seatbelt magnet! It actually exists!!
So I have been looking for the mysterious magnet for the seatbelt buckle and and found it this evening and it actually works very well. Mercedes knew about the knocking noise and did a solution. Great except who the hell thought hiding it underneath the leather was a good idea?
Even the dealer not only can't find it, they don't even know it's there! Nice job Mercedes, but this was a poor communication made worse by just confounding implementation of a good solution. So many people think their new C63S is rattling when you already have a solution.
Enough ranting. Click on the image to see the location if its too small.
Go back to enjoying your cars guys.
