W205 c63 software update
Just got back from dealers after an engine and gearbox software update to try and sort a non-working stop start system and the exhaust is a disappointing lot quieter, anyone else noticed this after an update.

Yep... Its heart breaking!
Got exactly the same issue after my car was updated a month ago... it's significantly quieter, and more noticeable when u lift off the throttle.
My stealer told me that it was an important update to resolve some transmission issues - I asked them to roll it back to the old version.
Anyhow, I find S+ the loudest mode now. Previously it was Race mode.
Hopefully my Rebellion Piggy will bring some sound increase back.

Mine is quieter in all modes, the 'growl' has gone and it doesn't pop and bang on the overrun in sport plus, I'm going to have word with the dealer next week about it.

Back from dealer, nothing can be done, they just install the latest software from Mercedes and can't put it back to how it was, a lesson to be learnt for everyone, don't ever let them update your car, leave it like it is, oh and the Eco stop start problem is still there and it has to go back so the whole thing was pointless.

this few days in S+ mode, I noticed that lifting off at high rev does not make the loud pop like when down shifting (it did before, every time i lift off at relatively high rpm), I thought there is something wrong with the exhaust.
But, I didn't service my car at all.
Not sure if this is related in anyway

Are you sure it wasn't just the fact that they reset things and the car is relearning your driving behaviors?
I had an update a few months back, and the car drove kind of grandmotherly for a few days before it woke back up.

Good point, I'll give it time, I do miss the 'crackles' and bangs on the overrun, a bit childish I know even though I'm in my 8th decade, I must be one of the oldest owner of these cars, you never grow up.

Which Eco Start/Stop issues are you having, out of curiosity? I read somewhere that the A/C thermostat set too low will prevent the car from shutting off. I had thought my car had issues until I read that. Turned A/C thermostat up, and the car was able to shut off. Then after I saw how poorly it handles the whole feature, I turned it off!
