XPEL

Guys I'm contemplating putting XPEL on my new C63S when it arrives. Do you feel it is the best? I don't want to cut corners here. Any advice appreciated.

There's a whole thread on this subject, in this forum.

Many of us have XPEL Ultimate and XPEL Stealth.

I've got a full wrap XPEL Stealth on my iridium silver C63S.

I did extensive research in the US (Dallas, TX), and discussed film options with several reputable installers. SunTek, 3M and XPEL are all very similar, but all the reputable installers (including the one I just used this week) told me SunTek is currently the best film available in terms of gloss/shine, no orange peel and performance. XPEL in comparison has a bit of orange peel so doesn't look at clear and smooth as your factory paint and clearcoat. Both have the self-healing properties, same level of protection, etc., but SunTek gets the vote for best look and finish.

Get Stealth for the frozen look if you dig it.

There are some tests here:
http://www.tintdude.com/forum/index....f-orafol-xpel/

Speaking from personal experience:
I do not personally believe that the Suntek film provides the same level of protection as the Xpel, with Xpel on an M5 I had zero stone chip penetration, Suntek on my 911 - a few chips got through and did some damage to the paintwork. Of course there is no way for me to be certain that those same chips might not have penetrated the Xpel in the same situation but the Xpel film seems to be thicker which at least suggests that it might be more durable.

Looks - The Suntek on my Porsche does indeed look a little better than the Xpel, the Xpel does have more of an orange peel look but the Xpel still looks really good on the C63.

The fitter I used currently uses Xpel but has tested Suntek. He currently uses Xpel all over but intends to use Xpel on the areas taking the most punishment and Suntek on other areas (depending on customer requirements).
