600bhp Mercedes-AMG C-Class Black Series under consideration (Autocar)
A new Mercedes-AMG C-Class Black Series coupé is under consideration, according to AMG boss Tobias Moers.

Given that the previous-generation C63 Black Series was so well received, the introduction of a new one seems like a logical step. While the previous one (pictured below) used a naturally aspirated 6.2-litre V8, a new model would likely adopt the twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8, found in the new AMG E 63 (pictured above) and the AMG GT R model. Given that the unit develops 603bhp and 577bhp respectively in those models, a power output of at least 600bhp is expected.

If it's going to look like that with bigger pumped guards, revised body kit and use the M179 from the new upcoming E class AMG's I'm in !!!

Also hope it comes with the option of including all the bells and whistles and not just a stripped out race special
An OEM swap for the exhaust manifolds and twin scroll turbochargers would be awesome, plus we may be able to use the OEM software.
Clearly, different engine variations and hardware will be widespread throughout the range - hopefully that means easy OEM bolt-on upgrades across platforms! It would be way cheaper and more reliable/consistent than the current turbo upgrade offerings ($12k + your core turbos is nuts!).

All I do know for certain at this stage is that it runs larger flow capacity twin scroll turbo chargers (they would have to be twin scroll to try and negate lag being of a higher flow than the BG K04 sized turbos of the current M176/177) and that's a great start, I see the possibility of over 500kw/700hp with tuning on this engine without swapping out the turbos, now that's more like it always worth waiting for the good stuff to come out
