Has anyone else had this problem? I've taken the car to my dealer multiple times and they don't know how to fix this and they won't replace the diff. I keep hearing clunking/knocking noises whenever I turn. It's the fourth time it's came up and all four times the dealer couldn't help me!!
Clunking/Knocking noises when you turn can often mean something to do with the suspension. I had something similar happen in my S4 and it turned out they hadn't tightened down some part of the suspension when they put it back together after swapping some parts, just a thought.
Try a different dealer if you can. I would not drive it if you can in the mean time. I don't know what country you are from but I would attempt to contact Mb directly if you are getting no help from dealers.
There was a TSB out on certain early C63S that had to do with a plug that need to be added/secured that was allowing water to get into wherever it didn't need to be.
Don't think this applies to you though since it was on sedans built before the coupe had been available, and the quick VIN search done by the dealer should have brought this up if it were the issue.
MB did pull apart my diff the first time I had this issue and they told me they noticed that the pics weren't linked correct or needed to be realigned, I'm not too familiar with all the technical terms but whatever they did didn't work. They had my car for over two weeks the last time and again hopeless.
I don't drive the car hard or do anything stupid in it, not sure why this keeps happening.
Also my exhaust rattle really loud between 2-3000rpm, it's from the internal valves but again MB told me there is no solution to fix this and they won't replace the exhaust as the new one will end up with the same issues. I'm starting to get the day I bought this car!

I have the same issue Elctronic rear axle differential lock inoperative. The MB cant find in the system that the 3000kms service was done so therefore they are trying to charge me to get this fixed.
When did you start getting this error? I have 26,000kms?
