Drive Feel and Vision

Hi Everybody,

New to the forum scene here and looking to buy a C63 AMG S Coupe 2016 (Most likely new).

I've test driven one but there is only so much you can gather from a 10 min test drive so I thought i'd hit the forums and ask you guys from your opinion of owning one.

Basically the things that had me thinking is...

- Head clearance when sitting down. There really isn't much room at all.. I'm not even that tall.. 178 cm.. Did any of you guys have an issue with this before you purchased the car? Did you learn to accept it or did it become normal?

- Vision of the car. I test drove the M4 and I could see every and anything clearly. C63 is not so much the case. Is this something you guys experienced during ownership of the car?

These are the two things that I really want an opinion on and hoping you guys could shed some light.

I'll probably still go with the benz but wouldn't mind getting the vibe before dropping this kind of cash on it.

Cheers!

I'm 5'10" and no problem at all. Try reclining the seat. Was it the performance seats?

Yup they were the performance seats.

I went to test drive it again yesterday and tried almost everything and my head clearance was dismal. Basically if i just raise my head alittle i'd hit the top... I even asked the sales guys to assist and they did everything and settled for "Its normal for this car"

The performance is intoxicating and I love it but once again I couldn't shake the vision issue as well. The sales guy re-iterated that it'll become easier as you drive it and you'll be ok with it in no time and I have to agree to him to a certain extent but the M4 was instantly good for me in terms of seating and vision.

I just love the roar of the V8 and the look of the benz and this is really my last resort to see if anybody shares this experience that I have before they bought their car. Sounds like everybody is loving it... maybe I have short hands? lol....

The stock sport seats lower a solid 1.5-2 inches lower then the performance seats .... the performance seats you really got to play around with for a while and get them dialled in. At 178cm ( 5'8" ), you shouldn't be having any issues with either seat. Is this your first experience with a sports coupe of this type? If so, you will get used to it if you are coming from a roomier suv etc. I am 6'1" and the stock sports seats I have tons of room in... the performance seats i am a little close to the roof, but nothing really too abnormal for a car like this.

The w205 sedans have great all around vision but the coupes have very thick c pillars and do make seeing everything around you a little difficult. The 360 camera is a very affordable option, and the C63 comes with passive merging sensors as standard to make things easier.
