All AutoTecknic mirror caps are made according to its OEM counterpart to ensure a 100% fit. AutoTecknic replacement parts are made with 100% non-recycled raw plastic to ensure that the clips and tabs will not chip away or break off easily. That is copied directly from their site. The tabs are plastic.

I'd guess that the whole thing is plastic - cannot see them moulding in separate plastic tabs ???? However, I stand to be corrected.
