What is the best sounding exhaust setup?
It seemed with the old platform (W204), nothing sounded better than longtube headers and midpipes with the factory catback. It makes sense because AMG puts a lot of R&D into the sound of the oem exhaust. With the W205 I'm wondering if there is anything that sounds better (throatier, more pronounced at higher RPM and all around more raunchy) than the catless downpipes bolted to the stock performance exhaust. Cars I've heard with a complete aftermarket system don't sound as loud or as good as the downpipes and stock catback. Let me know what you guys run and how it sounds, feel free to post a video.

I have the performance exhaust fitted on mine and I had the resonance chambers removed from the muffler and now I've installed the catless downpipes from Supersprint.
I have to say, the sound is absolutely ridiculous.
I have zero drone but as soon as you hit the throttle it just rasps and is super throaty, I really love it.

Sound and noise is very subjective and so are the relative costs associated with the mods. Outside of price, I like the cars with the DP's and the performance exhaust. And videos just do NOT capture the sound correctly. You wont be able to get much more of a raunchy exhaust than that with the 4.0's as down pipes and LT's just don't compare (they are louder) but the sounds are still incredible.

I had akp on my m4 before, but I think they will totally sound differently.
I checked your ig, but I didn't find video about the exhaust.
Hope you can post some soon!
Thanks

I'll save you the details... they wasted 4 months of my life + 2 transmissions + $$$$. Look at my post history, you'll find a post explaining things in more depth. I don't want to be involved in any Dime drama. All I'm going to say is that your money is better spent somewhere else. Dime's cooling system does not work and their tune is junk. They were good at bull****ting though, I'll give them that.

All good. It finally allowed me to move on to other things at least.
I just had the Weistec/AEM Water and Methanol Kit Installed + a larger transmission pan that can hold more liquid (for lower tranny temps). All I can say... The car is fast. Very fast.
I pick up my spare ECU with a race map on Friday.

I meant meth map by "race map". I don't want to be running a meth tune 100% of the time in case something happens.
Since I have the ECU relocated under the hood for easy access, I'll just be swapping it as needed. Meth map on spare ECU when I'm racing, street map for everyday stuff.

If tuned 100% there will be gains
Good idea you should of done ms109 on your race tune with the meth results would of been amazing

MS109 + Meth map does sound very tempting but the whole point of me adding a meth kit is to avoid hunting for race gas. Too much work lol.
I'll try to dyno the car again on Friday after I pick up the ECU if time allows.

Yeah I have dynoed the car pre-meth and it was at 613whp although not very consistent.

exhaust valve
Is there anything we can do along the lines of pulling a wire or fuse to keep our valve open all the time? To make the car as loud as it is in sport + in comfort mode?
I come from a BMW 335is and on that car you could pull a wire behind the rear tailight and it would open the valve and make your car louder.
(known as the " golf tee mod" i believe. People use to unplug the valve hose and plug it in w a golf tee until the wire behind the tai light was discovered)

Are the water/meth nozzles pre or post intercooler? It looks like Weistec tapped the silicone pressure pipe right off the turbo. Wouldn't it make more sense to tap them post intercooler for more cooling? That's how I've setup w/m systems on my previous cars.
