What's the C63s' actual top speed?
Is 180 mph or 290 km/h also electronically limited? I've seen people do ~181 mph on youtube.
I know this sound stupid but: In Forza Horizon 3 I used stock C63s coupe, no tuning whatsoever, I was able to reach 195 mph or 318 km/h in 6th gear. So any idea what's the "actual' or "theatrical" top speed? factoring power to weight and torque to weight ratio, air resistant, tires, and all the other stuff. Any way to calculate this? |
I've wondered this too.
I wouldn't be surprised if that number (195 mph) is fairly accurate. I know it's apples vs. oranges, but the Bentley Continental GT V8 S, which has similar power and torque as the C63S Coupe, is able to hit a drag-limited 188 mph, and it weighs a thousand pounds more than the AMG. The two cars have similar acceleration initially but the C63S hits 150 mph three and a half seconds sooner than the Bentley. Ref: http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...-s-test-review Continental GT V8 S Zero to 60 mph: 3.9 sec Zero to 100 mph: 9.2 sec Zero to 130 mph: 15.8 sec Zero to 150 mph: 23.0 sec http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...pe-test-review C63S Coupe Zero to 60 mph: 3.8 sec Zero to 100 mph: 8.3 sec Zero to 130 mph: 14.0 sec Zero to 150 mph: 19.6 sec |
I would think 195 is more than optimistic, perhaps 180-185. This is based on the top speed limit increase option (180) and the fact that the C63S is 500 BHP. A 911 991 Turbo S gen 1 has 560bhp and a top speed of 197. a gen 2 is 580bhp and 205mph. the 911 is lighter, better aero (very likely) and a fair bit more power too.

I personally have gotten it up to 184, and personally I feel like the car has more in it, it wanted to keep going.

The absolute number one determining factor for top speed is your power to aero drag ratio. And aero drag is basically your frontal cross-sectional area (how big the car appears from directly in front) times your drag coefficient. The funny thing about drag coefficients is that many times very boring designs have a significantly smaller Cd than cars that the normal eye would view as being slippery. |
I've had just over 170 out of mine and it felt like it would easily pass 180. Hasn't anyone had the limiter removed when getting remapped?

I have hit 192 before. I have downpipes and a tune.

In Germany, a delimiting piggy-pack is pretty popular. These car run approximately 200mph. |
This guy got it up to 319 km/h (199mph)!!! Legit?

That Coupe is not stock. A stock car takes around 30s from 0-180... and a stock Coupe os limited to 297km/h indicated

I tend to disagree. My Estate (!) (S205 C63S) is limited at 287km/h (178mph) and it still pulls strong at that speed.

In theory a tuned c63s coupe or cab can go 206mph. There is a calculator for this.
