Hello,
Apologize if this thread has been made but I was unable to find this specific topic by searching. Does anyone have any experience with either removing or painting the large yellow part of the edition 1 wheels? i'd like to either remove them totally or leave a thin line of yellow. thanks!!

Can anyone please comment as to whether the yellow around the wheel is a decal or not?

Answered my own question. Reading Mercedes Benz marketing material on the car which states “yellow painted rim flanges.....”
Love the interior on the car, just not a fan of the decals and painted lips on the wheels.

I have an Edition One with the red strips around my wheels and wanted to do the same thing.
I purchased black part number 72602 3M 1/4 striping tape.

And it covers the strip up nicely and was easy to do

The Stripes are painted on.
Google for a wheel repair place in your area: They can repaint the wheels to omit the stripe.
I've use one in Crofton, MD near me to repair wheels (pot holes, curb rash), change the color, etc.
I just had one repainted to fix where the previous owner had a poorly done paint job during a repair: It looks like a new wheel.
Cost for me was $175 for the wheel, but they had to paint it twice (second time doing the stripe and AMG logo). One color should be less per wheel.
If I was getting two wheels repaired, I probably would have taken all four and had them omit the stripe and leave the red AMG logo.
