C63 OEM wheel color change
Hi all
I'd like to know from your experiences if it is best to powder coat or spray my OEM wheels. I'd like to change it from the current matte black color to a high sheen gloss black. I'm situated in South Africa and do not really know how much experience the local guys have with powder coating.
Kind Regards

powder coating on forged wheels needs to be carefully done. Temperature for curing should be less than 300 degrees to ensure they do not lose their strength. Powder coating should only be performed 1-2 times on forged wheels.
If they are already black - then it's possible to sand and clear them - but if this was not done perfectly it could result in issues in long term durability.
I prefer powder coating, in general, but that answer would be different depending on the specific circumstance. And in yours, I'd probably do more research on just adding a gloss clear coat.
