Where does it say 2k mile Dif change?
Looked in the manual and couldn't find it.
My SA said it wasnt needed on my car (C63S Sedan 2017) and he asked the shop foreman and he said the same thing.

Take it to another dealer. This shop obviously doesn't know what it's doing. I wouldn't trust them to work on my car anyway.

It was also on the sticker up on the top left of the windshield when the car arrived. they usually remove it when they do the prep. I jumped in my car a few minutes after it arrived on the truck so saw it there.
I agree if they don't know and are too lazy to look it up would go to another dealer. amazing they would not bother with it. i am sure it is a VERY profitable service for them

Despite what a lot of these dealers say about being AMG specialists, they don't have the first clue. Problem is, they're usually so sure of themselves, it becomes embarrassing to keep telling them they're wrong...

I spoke with two dealers in Boston area: Natick and Portsmouth, NH; owned by different people and they said you dont need 2k service. Mine is a lease so that's the answer for me... sold to them at the end of the lease!

There are other threads on this and the overwhelming and reasoned answer is it needs doing.
they have a sticker on windshield if you were there at delivery to the dealer and the book says it needs doing and if you read the other threads AMG confirms it.

Ummm...kind of.
That is what I thought, too, and even did the service on my '16 S. But I just went and looked up the service schedule for my car, and the 2016 service schedule specifically states the service is "Only for Mercedes-AMG vehicles with self-locking rear axle differential (Code 471) or AMG performance Package (Code P30) or AMG Handling Package (Code P30)."
The option code for the E-diff in the S is 467; the option code for the mechanical diff in the non-S is 471.
Here's where it gets REALLY interesting: the 2017 service schedule calls for this change on BOTH the 467 AND 471 differentials.
So do what you want, but if you have a non-S (coupe or sedan, doesn't matter), you DEFINITELY should be getting this service, no matter what your dealer says. And if you have an S, even a 2016, I would still strongly consider having this done, since by 2017 MB decided it was worthwhile enough to include it (or the 2016 version accidentally omitted it, in which case MB better hope they don't start seeing premature diff failures from those that DIDN'T have it done based on their owner's manuals).

Several of us have tried to explain this before in previous topics on here. And most people will ignore what you are saying and either refer to what they did on prior cars they've owned with LSD rear-ends or they will argue that you are reading too far into what the service manual says so just trust what a generic sticker says on your windshield.
If the service is required, it'll come up when the tech runs your VIN in the system. If it doesn't come up, I'd trust the tech WAY more than trust what people on an online forum say based on what they've read on the internet somewhere. Just my point of view on the subject.

Yeah, Considering I bought the car cash I don't mind a little couple hundred here and there to make sure its all up to date and well maintained. Plus will help with re-sale when they come out with the new model and its time to sell

If you trust your tech, do what they say. Don't tell them what they should be telling you. They are the experts. We aren't.

At the end of the day it's their problem. Do the service or don't do the service. I had it done and yes it is required to get done. I think there are some people out there that bought these cars and probably cant afford them but hey fake it till you make it and enjoy your cup-o-noodle for the next three years. But you look cool driving around in your C63AMG. haha

It's not 3 years for people like that. It's 6 or 7 years since it's a 72 or 84 month loan they took out.

He's not wrong in that the maintenance manual/schedule given to the '15 and '16 cars doesn't mention that option code 467 cars (electronic LSD) need the service. Only says option code 471 (mechanical LSD) is mentioned as needing it. The manual for '17 does mention both 467 and 471.
What to interpret from that is the question.

Mine has the electronic LSD. And yes the sticker was there on the windshield to do it at 1875 miles to be exact. I test drove a coupe and was also there when my buddy picked up his. Both those cars had the sticker too and his is a 2017. The sticker is the clear transparent type oval in shape. You can easily miss it or maybe your dealer peeled it off.
