First Performance Mod
Been searching for a while, and I'm wondering what did you guys do for your first performance mod? Have you had any issue with the factory warranty?
The most topics that I read are filters, downpipe, a tune, and catback. Any suggestions, and anything that we need to pay attention to when modifying?
personally having had so many cars and modifing them the obvious are always ie. tune, intake and exhaust aside from looks (suspenstion , rims etc...)
Believe there are piggy back boxes out there that you can get away with for not so much worring about factory warranty since you can put everything back to stock. Though if your looking to get serious with tuning you will have to pull your stock computer and having it modified to except tuning.
For exhast it seems cat-less dp's will give you the most gains, tune is required. Personally I'm still looking at finding a high flow cat dp since i hate the seem of a cat-less exhaust. Been there done that, not on a 80k car imo.
Haven't looked into to much intakes though it seems some people doesn't see a big different with just drop in filters. May look into full redesigned intakes for more performace.
Best of luck, Post your mods when you do them!

Piggyback tune, filters, catback exhaust. You'll get ~610 crank hp, and close to 700 toque.
I haven't had an issue with factory warranty, even when bringing it in for service or random warranty-related things. However, if my engine or tranny blows.. I'm pretty sure my dealer will highly suspect the tune had something to do with it, and I won't blame them.
Probably your first big mod should be the widen your wheels, (if you want to keep it stock skip this) to increase your wheel surface area for less slip (don't quote me on this I do not know for sure if widening wheels will do that, but general consensus seems to be that it will reduce wheel slip).
After that just pick up Michellin Super Cup 2s, this will greatly improve traction. After that, I'd pick up a pair of KW coilovers and then whatever suspension tuning is avaiable after that.
And a switch to a stickier compound will make a much, much greater difference than switching to a wider size of you your current compound.
