new owner questions
Hey All,
I have the 2018 C63s Sedan and have few questions
1 ) Window sticker says break-in period 1k miles ( I'm about 700 miles ) but few threads say up to 800 miles should be fine for the break-in period. So is it 1k or 800?
2 ) In Comfort mode when the car is stopped it's always in 2nd gear ( never see it going to 1st gear ) and there is always this jerk shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear ( is this normal or should I take it into dealer so they can have a look at it? )
3 ) Road noise from tires is just too much ( do you guys think a change to good brand run flats will reduce the noise?
Thanks

1) Always go by what the manual says. That way if there are issues, you're covered.
2) In Comfort mode, the transmission will always start in 2nd by design. I don't drive in Comfort often, but don't recall any kind of jerking on the 2-3 upshift
3) Run flat tires will NEVER be the solution for excess road noise. I don't recall what '18s came with for tires, but unless they're particularly noisy I'd say that's pretty much par for the course. You're running wide high-performance tires, they're almost always going to be noisier than an all-season designed for comfort. You could check TireRack and see how what you have now compares with other options; they have tens of thousands of reviews.

In regards to the break-in time whether is 700, 800 or a thousand I don't remember. Don't worry, enjoy the car. You're not going to break anything if you decide to go into Plaid ( Spaceballs reference).
The car will always start in 2nd gear in comfort. you can always switch into sport or sport + and it will start in 1st and wont activate stop/start.
Personally I didn't care for the stock tires or run flats in general. Check out some PS4 or whatever tires you've had on previous cars that you like.
