transition to c43 from c63?
But even after getting the 63s I will never ever dismiss the 43. Having driven both and swapping it for a week even with my friend's 63s, I can tell you that if you underestimate a C43 that much, stock vs stock you are due for a rude awakening. If you guys ever have some free time, go to a dealership and ask to test drive a 43 with a PE. The PE makes a much bigger difference with the 43 than the 63 as noticed by a lot of people. Also case in point, MT's review car did not have PE. If you want the real impression of a c63vs c43, watch Rokenr's review of it. And if you are under the impression that the c63 pops and crackles a lot, you clearly have never heard the overrun on a 43 on lift off neither have you heard the upshift bangs that the 43 with a PE makes. It does not take me a long time to drown the sound of my friend's 63s with my 43 at city driving speeds. I also have a lot of go pro videos of me roaming around with him, I will upload one if I get a chance.
What I am trying to say is, I will be getting a 63s soon, it is one of my all time favorite car. But it would be a really really really hard day for me when I will have to say goodbye to my 43. If you have not driven it, don't dismiss it like that.
Upgrading to a C63S from your C43 for purely aesthetic reasons is taking a hell of a monetary hit for something so arbitrary when you consider the fact that you're making the C43 out to be as formidable to a C63S...simply based on exhaust decibels. Obviously, there's a whole lot more you're getting than looks and sound.
You're also another data point that not many sound minded people would downgrade to a C43 from a C63S

The C43 is a downgrade from a C63s, no questions about it. But not as much as you would think, that is all I am saying.

I sold the C43 and just picked up my 2018 C63S though, this past weekend lolol.
So I did make the upgrade. I do feel like the C43 was a softer ride and more convenient because it was a sedan. You're talking about a .08 second difference in acceleration to 60 mph. To be fair.. it's not really that much of a difference. Plus the C43 would never burn out on launch (I haven't tried to launch in the C63S because I have only 500 miles on it). The key difference and selling point for me was the rumble of the V8, sportier coupe, added options and the ability to tune for better performance well beyond that of the C43. I do really like the C63S more. It's just a beast and I enjoy the rumble of the engine/exhaust. I purchased more options with this AMG and really like them - Distronic, HUD and Parking assist. Those options go a long way for me. Everything really about the C63S as far as looks, performance, etc just does it for me more than the C43. Never going back!

i decided to get an M4. She wasn’t into it, and it failed to strum my Gitau because to be honest my tuned 335 was bad ***. So we went to Mercedes and tried the C300. I hated it, but she conceded to accept one instead of a Prius. I was paying and couldn’t see spending my money on a Prius. I made her deal, I’ll buy something acceptable to both of us, and when she starts working makes her own money she can get her Prius then. I then tried the C450 AMG. Liked it but not enough to buy it. Decided we should go look at some other cars, and I really wanted a coupe buy conceded to her accepted I’d get a sedan because we’d be having a baby in the not too distant future. What about the Rover ?no she couldn’t drive that. Fine, as I was leaving I was offered a test drive in a C63S. I declined several times but guy was persuasive. I disclosed I had been wanting an M 4 and it failed to impress so I would probably be biting the bullet and looking at Porsche. Guy says let’s go out in the C63S you have nothing to loose and it might be enough and save you an bigger bill with Porsche. Ah ok, why not...
by the time we turned back from that test drive I had a silly ear to ear grin. Sold! It was not about budget, legacy or any shush abstracts, nothing but just pure emotion the car evoked.
These days we we go for any long trips in the Rover. We both prefer it for that. But she got used to the C63S except she kept scrapping the wheels, so I pushed her into the Rover and she reluctantly started driving after I took her to an off-road driver class at Land Rover. Before I knew it she was in love with the Range Rover and just defaults to only wanting to drive it. No more scrapped wheels on the C63S. My only regret is I should have gotten my coupe, but I didn’t know she’d eventually muster the confidence to drive the rage Rover comfortably. Would I trade for C43? No.i would if I had to, I just don’t want to, because I prefer the C63S.

The C43 sedan will see some light track duty (I also have a vette, just for track really), so we see...
