Tire pressure max discrepancy
My 2017 c63s cab lists recommended pressures of 49/51. The Michelin super sport tire says their max is 50. Anyone know why? I would think there could be liability in exceeding the max a tire manufacturer States. Mercedes service say the recommendations on the door plate and inside the fuel door are correct.

FYI 49/51 is way too high unless you are fully laden with passengers and luggage and are exceeding 155 mph all the time. (use your filler cap guide to direct)

Thanks for the info. I double checked the guide on the fuel door and for the 19/20 tires it is 36/35 for 2 passengers and up to 155 mph and then ranges up to 49/51 for 4 passengers and up to 174 mph. I dont usually have 4 people and I sure don't anticipate going over 155 on the highway so lower end would be the proper pressures. Not sure why the dealer thought going to the max recommended was the right thing to do. Oh well, mystery solved--thanks.
