Help Removing Grill ed1 coupe

Hi
need some help with removing the grill from a c63 coupe, I want to have it painted black, the paint guys tell me that the bumper needs to be removed however I am pretty sure I read somewhere that it should be able to be removed with out the need to drop the bumper.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Tony

From other threads, it is confirmed to get to all the clips that hold it on, you do have to remove the front bumper.

Other option is Plasti-dip which can be done with it on the car. If you are going with flat or semi-gloss black, this is a good option. If you want high gloss look, you will need to remove and it paint it.
