Reverse collision warning?

I have a 2017 C63 S with the premium 3 package. I have had a few instances where I am backing out of a parking space and a car is coming from the side that I don't see, and I don't get any sort of warning from the car. I also almost backed into a person walk behind me as I was backing out of a space.

Shouldn't my car have that feature? Or am I crazy?

There is no detection for cars coming from the side. You still need to do it the old fashion way and look. If there is something or someone directly behind you it will show up on screen or if you're really close the parking sensor should go off but I think that's from about 2 ft or something. Sorry still have to use your eyes. Its like the people who sleep in their Tesla's and wonder why the get into accidents.

Thanks for the info. It isn't that I don't want to use my eyes, but I came from a car that had the side detection, so I am used to it, and it creates some issues at times.

I coiuld swear the base C63 sedan I rented recently had it, but could be wrong. I'm also almost sure it's listed on one of the packages; it's normally called 'cross-traffic alert', and since you have the highest trim level, you should have it. Check your manual; could be deactivated, but at least on my cars it's always active, so either missing, or malfunctioning. But it uses the same sensors as blind-spot monitoring, which is standard, so should be included. That's one of the very few doodads I actually welcome, along with blindspot detection, as an extra satefy net, since I always head-check first. Good luck.
