Software update - exhaust related

Software update - exhaust related
Hi all... I've read about 15-16 c63/s cars having a software update available that gives the exhaust more cracks/pops, etc.
I just picked up my car and while it has some, I checked the service history and see no evidence of this update being done.
I talked to the "AMG Tech" at the local MB dealer and he says most are reporting this update actually makes the exhaust QUIETER.
Should I chalk this up to nothing and just go ahead with the update? I thought it was supposed to make it more lively/loud/pop/bangy.
Any input from people who have done this software update or know more about it would be appreciated.
PS I just deleted the mufflers on the standard c63s exhaust and I am very happy with the sound. In stock form the standard exhaust is very quiet.
