What is your launching technique? That's the best '60 time i've seen for a stock car not on drag radials.
I used launch control, zero skill involved, was actually the first time I'd ever launched the car. I did do a decent burnout before. Continential Sport Contact 5s.
Location: Southern Maryland, about 50 miles out of D.C.

Spence - Launch control in sport plus or race mode? Interested in what traction control setting. At AMG driving Academy they said use race mode which gives is some wheel spin but some times I get the early 1-2 short shift. I tried race at the strip with traction control off, manual transmission. Bad juju. Got hyped up staging, forgot about shifting, hit rev limiter and when it finally shifted (yes after hitting limiter it shifted on its own despite being in manual), left rear lost traction and car yawed left almost 30 degrees. I often wonder how someone can lose it going in a straight line. Me, a retired Navy pilot forgetting the basics. Pilot error.
Hey Leon, Traction control off, race mode, auto trans mode, suspension on soft. It did yaw a little to the left, little adjustments. It hooked up well. Second run I brake boosted and did an 11.6, a tad faster mph though.
11.76 at 122mph this past weekend. Tune and downpipes. Brand new Pilot sport 4s 295.
I'll post the slip later. All night I was getting from 12.0 to 12.3 using race start. I tried traction control fully on, sport mode, and totally off. I would either bog, wheelspin, or wheelhop in all these settings. Finally the last run I didn't use race start, I just braked and gave enough gas for 2krpm, then sent it. 11.76 on my final pass. I think I can definitely do better tweak what RPM i brake boost too now that I know race start for whatever reason just does not work on my car. I tried everything, small burnout, no burnout, and even below...ha

Damn, sounds like you were struggling for traction, I would imagine your mods should get you a low 11.
I can't imagine traction control at all giving a decent time, it cuts power all the time for me and I'm stock, I'd leave it off.

Yeah grip was definitely the issue all night. I was there with someone with a 10.9 sec C63s coupe with stage 1 pure turbos. He uses race start and that was his recommendation for me even on street tires so thats why I kept trying all my passes on race start. I'll go back soon and hope for a 11.5 or lower. I have trapped 125 before on a colder day so we'll see if I can get it. That same car with my mods ran 11.6 best (without the stage 1 turbos)

How was the weather during the runs, specifically the wind? It's been pretty crazy here in Houston lately, and I'm wondering if you were running into a stiff headwind that night. Nothing really around HRP (still can't call it Royal Purple) to block you from it.
I know that wouldn't explain the launch issue, but it could explain the slow trap speed.
Don't recall wind being an issue but maybe. For sure every one I was there with was trapping 2-5 mph slower than before though last time we went in 45 degree weather. My friend with tubed e63s couldn't break into 10s which he normally does and there's no issue launching that car
2016 C63S stock with secondary cat removal & green air filters.
Michelin PS4S 275/35/19 @ 30psi
Full weight, just less than 1/2 tank of gas, 94oct (Canadian)
Track is Napierville Dragway in Quebec, Canada. Track is 197ft above sea level & temps were 15-17c or around 60f with 30% humility. Track prep was excellent!
Today was a test & tune day, not to many cars, drove in & lowered tire psi, then ran 11.80@123 with a 2.02 60’
All runs were done in race mode with traction completely off, small burnout to clean off tires. Made 8 runs within 1hr., the first 5 done with left foot braking & a bit of reving, less than 1500rpm. Runs varied from 11.80 to 11.62@121 depending on 60’. I realized traction was good so I tried race start/launch control... next 3 runs were 11.55, 11.47 & 11.49 all at 121 😁

Damn, well done man, you're practically stock, 11.47!
Such a shame we don't have ANY stage 1 or 2 times! WTF!
My stage 2 11.7 is up there somewhere. The problem is that extra power down low does not make you any quicker in the 1/4 I have trapped 124 though which seems to be a quicker mph than you can get with stock I am back to stock now going to track soon

You just need better rear tires (drag radials) to get the car to hook off the line. I’ll be going to the track a good amount over the next few months so I’ll add to this thread.

True, I wasn't willing to go through the hassle of either getting new rear wheels or swapping to r888s everytime I go to track.

Depending on location and the weather/climate, you can daily drag radials no problem and get decent miles out of them if you don’t do burnouts. I’m running 19” nt05r’s for my dd tire on my mustang and have gotten about 15k miles out of them. Still only hooks 3rd gear and above, but ~1kwhp is a lot of pew pew haha. Getting caught in heavy rain will make you pucker though. If you’re semi serious about racing, you can just buy an extra set of rears with dr’s for the track/Mexico then swap when you go. That’s what I’ll be doing
