Winter Storage Tips?

Winter Storage Tips?
Hey guys, lots of snow where I live here in Ontario so I am going to just drive my Outback and store my C63s coupe in a heated garage. I've never stored a car before so I was wondering if you all had any tips
Specifically, how frequently should I start up the car to avoid battery depletion? There's no plug for a trickle charger
Would disconnected the battery all together be a bad idea?
When I do start it up, do I drive it around a bunch or just let it idle for a while?
Cover or no cover?
Any other tips?
Thanks!

Starting and letting your W205 C63 idle for a few minutes every other week when it's in storage will do more harm than good. Connect up a Ctek charger too the battery terminals and leave it be.

Why will it do more harm than good?
Any suggestions if I can't hook up a charger?

Sitting for a few days is one thing, but weeks?
No...

Get a CTEK 4.3 battery tender and plug it up.
Personally I think that's all you really need. With that said, when I lived in Canada, the AMG still got active duty in the winter. Just swap some Winter Performance tires on it and you're good to go. The only conditions that would stop the car should also shutdown any businiess or destination you were planning to go to regardless.

My car resides in my garage during the winter because snow tires are zero fun and Pennsylvania roads get destroyed in the winter. The crappy, band aid patch jobs the municipalities do are instantly removed by plow trucks so roads are littered with pot holes. Not worth destroying a 3k wheel or having salt eat the car.
Garage is heated and on days where it’s not miserably cold, take the car out for a spin then wash it.

if I can't hook up a charger do you think removing the battery would be wise? I suspect I would have to do a lot of reprogramming when I put it back in

Hey,
Did you leave the battery connected while charging?
The CTEK 4.3 can go up to 15.8 volts during desulphation and recond steps. My 2011 C300 manual says 14.8v max for chargers. Any issues (with battery connected)?
Also some newer cars have lithium-ion batteries. You may need a CTEK lithium charger.
From MB 2018 user manual:
! Only use battery chargers with a maximum charging voltage of 14.4V.
All vehicles except vehicles with a lithium-ion battery:
! Only use battery chargers with a maximum charging voltage of 14.8V.

Your CTEK 4.3 is probably zipping through step 1 desulphation (15.8v pulse) since your battery is in good health. Just don't add step 6 recond (15.8v max) to the charging cycle with the battery connected.
You are a brave man.
