DINAN CARS Tune for C63s
first a little bit why i chose Dinan, I belong to both the BMWCCA and MBCC. I won $1000 dinan credit thru the BMWCC. So sorta made it easy to go with Dinan. I did look at renntech and weistech, even if i did not win the $1000 i still would have leaned to Dinan, this because i have a 2017 C63s and did not want to void anything. Also i do not plan on any type of down pipes or running anything then pump gas. If i were to do that I would be doing an ECU Flash that i would want VFEngineering to do.
Ok my interaction with Dinan, They have been great to work with even with no support here on the east coast with dealers. they went above and beyond trying to get my dealer on board. but in the end the dealer did not want to work with them, not that they my change their minds down the road..but to new right now. and my BMW dealer witch is a Dinan dealer did not really want to do it. I belong to Pittsburgh Cars and Coffee, and we have a member Geroge Riggin, he has a Specialty Auto shop that works on high end cars(highly recomend) and we decide he could do the tune. a special shout out to Scott at Dinan great guy.
OK now to the Install..this is really the only problem part of the tune we had but also the main part. If this is a first install of a piggyback tune and you are going to do this from home and you are a novice i would not do it. the instructions states about 4hrs well that is just about right. If you did 10 of these I am sure you could shave off an hour. THE BIG PROBLEM we found was the lack of better pics and explanation of the install. DINAN really should go back over this and add about 4 or 5 more pic of where it plugs in and show how to get to the 3rd plug(really 45min on this plug alone) and better pic of 4th plug.
OK now thats out of the way. The quality of the product is top notch. Now my thoughts on the tune. well for one launch control is a joke now. just spun my tires in all modes. HAHA love it
the POWER is delivered so much better, in sport+ mode you really feel the increase in power between the 3-4 shift under heavy throttle. it really puts you back in the seat more then before. keeping the tires hooked up is now a problem a good problem if you know what i mean. you really can feel the car working now. much more fun to drive. but when you leave it in comfort mode you still feel a power increase just not as crazy in sport+ The only downside is the transmission on the car if this was a PDK or BMW DC it would be insane. In the end it is a great tune. i would stand behind it 100%. there will be a video soon of me running side by side with a 2018 C63s coupe his is stock so we will see if there really is a difference..but the BUTT dyno shows an increase..haha
