Hello Folks, Newbie here.
I have two previous posts here and I want to thank everyone who took the time to respond. I appreciate the information. Now, for a little about me. I turned 70 today and as they say, I may be old but I'm not dead, and as far as I'm concerned have a constitutional right to fast cars and a glance (at least when wife is not looking) at some SoBe talent. My car story started early, probably before many of you were a gleam in daddy's eye.. LOL. First car an MG1100 Sports Sedan circa 1966, quickly followed by a new 1967 Austin Cooper S with all the race type goodies you could order, and a few they stuck in when the parts bin ran low. .. (lucky me), slide open windows and no radio in South Florida, and about as baad **** as an Abarth exhaust equipped slightly modded sweaty shoe box on Firestone Indy Dry Track race rubber could be. Next car of interest (after an 11 year stint in the rent-a-car business where I drove new stuff every 6 mos free) was a 1986 Toyota MR2. Just divorced and I drove it like it was a slot car. Tires all around every three K miles. Fast forward to 1998 and my first Boxster, very unsatisfying power and reliability so that was traded for a 2000 Boxster S which also had pitiful reliability, but with Kinesis Motorsports springs, Porsche Eurosport sway bars, GT3 spacers and such was a pretty decent autocross car for 3.5 years when on Kuhmo stickies also street driven. Lots of interior enhancement$ also. Bought a Jeep to use as a tow car and planned to buy a Lotus Super 7 derivative for race weekends but never got to the race car part with crazy g/f's and work. Late 2012 ordered a 2013 C350 Sedan which I truly love, and seriously regret not having gone the extra almost $10K for the AMG version which had the big V8. Have basically lusted after an AMG or Brabus Benz fort a very long time.
Well, here we are and I've ordered a C63S Sedan, Selenite, Black forged, almost all the electronics and lighting, night package, Napa Saddle standard eats (vented of course) and a bunch or other stuff. Maybe the last hurrah of an old guy, maybe just a new beginning. I do understand and can feel the impact of tire changes so maybe my *** ain't dead yet.. LOL. I'm also not in the least adverse to performance enhancements as long as reliability isn't effected. .. and from what I read in the community it seems the Dinan Tune is AOK. Unless my car comes with Michelin Super Sports, which doubt, it seems the PS4S would be the way to go in either 255/35 and 275/35 or 255?/35 or 265?/35 and 285/35 rears. Not interested in staggered sidewall dimensions, I say this, I appreciate traction, especially when it is needed. I say this since I drive a limited number of miles a year now (4-5K or a bit more) and whether I replace tires at one year, two years, three years or whatever is much less meaningful to me than my personal satisfaction at this point in life.
Sooo.. thanks a lot guys for any input you can provide me going forward for any questions I may ask, and as silly as some may sound..
