I don't know for sure so take this with a grain of salt, but I can speculate. I was searching for lightly-used C63s and found several with this code. My guess is that they're early build dates for the model year that are earmarked as demonstration vehicles (for use with auto journalists, demo events, certain dealers that get cars early, etc). All of the ones I saw on the used market looked like they were dealer-owned vehicles with a few thousand miles on them which were then certified through the Mercedes Certified Pre-Owned program.

I steered clear of cars with this code because I worried that they'd spent their early life being abused.
