Is there a warning light that comes on for brake pad wear?

Just curious. My car is in the shop so I can't RTFM. Would appreciate it if someone can enlighten me. Thank you!

If everything is wearing evenly, yes there is an indicator for brake wear.

Wolfturbo.....I had a low mileage scud....great car; As you probably know the MB dealer service dept can get a read out on brake wear. I was surprised at 1,900 plus miles I have 51percent brake life. Just got the car back after an alignment issue. I asked the question if the read out measured all four wheels......They could not answer my question.

Yes there is a low brake pad indicator fitted on the rear pads and I would suspect the same on the front.

I drive a right hand drive Australian delivered C63S and my rear passenger side pad wore down to the metal backing plate scrapping the rotor.

No low brake indicator warning in my circumstance as the passenger side does not have a sensor fitted just the drivers side. (Right side)

As for the life of our rear pads, I think all our fancy safety systems utilise the rear brakes, lane guidance, distronic etc, hence why they wear quickly.

I've replaced the rears twice and the fronts once in 2 years and am running the Porterfield pads at the moment which are a lot less dusty.

My recommendation is to frequently monitor tyres and brake pads as you can quickly get caught out with a flat tyre or damaged rotors and no brakes.
