What would you do?
30, Single, no debt. Budget 100-120K CAD Cash on a performance coupe. I really want to custom order a 19' C63S but since it wont be driven in winter I would only start during summer 2019.
Now with the w206 platform coming out in lets say 2022?, is this a dumb move? Should I just wait and get the best value out of my money?

2012 c63 coupe
Your beatnik bet would be custom ordering a 2018 and taking the huge discount they are offering on them right now. 2019s here in Ontario won't be delivered until December to February. You could also put a deposit down on a C63R in hopes they are released in 2020

When I was 25, I bought a 911 Twin Turbo Cab brand new for $230K CAD, it was good times and lots of amazing moments in that car, but it definitely wasn't the best financial decision.
If you buy a 2016/2017 used, you won't get destroyed as bad when the W206 comes out.

I don't want to pile on, because I love my C63S Coupe... a lot. But, I just don't see myself buying the W206 as its replacement. Not because it'll be a hybrid, in fact I see that as a HUGE bonus (assuming they stick with the V8, and not put in some version of the new inline-6 from the CLS).
I'm looking at replacing the C63S sometime in 2019 with a 991.2 C4 or C4S (or a 991.1 Turbo) and driving over to Cobb for some parts and tuning (I'm fortunate enough having them 15 minutes from my house). I used to hang onto my cars for a lot longer, but as I get older, I want to experience more brands and have always wanted a 911. Variety is the spice of life, and I think I'm done playing in this segment (C63/M3/RS5) after many, many years.
I'm very interested in picking up a second hand GLC63S for my wife's replacement to stay in the AMG family, but since those just came onto the market, it'll be a while until they really start to depreciate. So it'll more than likely be a used Macan S and a 991.2 in the garage next year. I should start ordering my Porsche jackets, hats, coffee mugs, and keychains to get a head start on being a P-car fanboy

Buy a used 2017 instead of a new 2018 even with the discounts if you must have a C63s.
Otherwise like others said, a 991.2 is going to hold it's value much better than any AMG. Can't beat the V8 sound tho, paying 100+K for an almost base model or just a C4S 991.2 doesn't sit well with me.

I traded my W204 C63 in on a new 991S in 2013. In some ways it was a mistake and in others it was not. The C63 is exciting due to its exhaust noise whereas the Porsche is like driving a super car but it has limited use due to an almost non existent back seat and an inability to leave it anywhere for fear of some delightful little soul running a coin up the side of it.
I sold the Porsche back to the dealer after 2 years and don't miss it, there are times I miss the roar of the big V8 but life goes on.
