H there!
Long time lurker first time caller. After 20-years of BMW M ownership Im finally thinking of making the leap to the AMG world. Im currently considering the new 2019 C63S sedan or a coupe.
I always custom order my cars thru BMW Individual program - but I have to say I know almost nothing about ordering 'designo' (which Im lead to believe is AMG's version of the BMW Individual program)paints and trims. A few quick questions:
1. Unlike BMW Individual, it looks like AMG keeps the available specs and what you can do on a car paint pretty close to their chest. ie, I was told that a graphite grey designo matte paint is not available on the C63S sedan, but is available on the coupe. This is new as pretty much anything within reason is "allowed" in BMW Individual.
2. Im new to this board, usually in other forums there are 'deal threads' where members can run the deals they are getting by other well-versed members. Those have been invaluable to me in the past when ordering my BMWs. Is there a similar thread here? Im sorry I havent been able to find it. Im specifically looking for what sort of pricing to expect. ie, what % or $ above/below invoice pricing is considered a good deal in MB world.
Thats it for now. Im very early in my research stage so I really appreciate any help you guys can give me and help me defect from the BMW world. ;-)

I switched to MB because the BMW dealer in my area pulled too many shenanigans on me and I got tired of dealing with their and BMW’s bull ****. Love BMW cars but will never own another because of this dealer. Unfortunately they also own the Porsche and Audi dealer as well so I’ll probably never own an Audi or Porsche again either. That said, my MB dealer has never treated me wrong, is very easy to deal with and the car itself is a pleasure to own and drive. The big difference imo is MB is not as hard core performance oriented as the BMW and leans a bit more towards luxury and comfort which suits me better anyway. And, I still outrun M cars an the regular.

For the most part whatever is available on the website is what you can get. Having said that you can customize more options Have your salesman call Mercedes and see what they can do. Regarding paint, you can have any car painted any color Mercedes have ever used. But it was 16k plus the cost of paint when i looked into itOriginally Posted by friskygeek

Regarding price it wjll depend on timing and total msrp. Sedans typically have a bigger discount than coupes. 2019 is a refresh year so the discount wont be as good unless you are willing to wait a while For actually numbers id be very hapoy with 5 percent off msrp for a new coupe If this was last year or later 2019 I'd probabky want 7 or 8 percent . Best thing you can do is build the car online, hand the print to the sales manager in person to 3 local dealerships., maybe even a forum dealer and see who bids the most off. Definitely negotiate before u order the car and make sure they have an allocation.
