Here is an example how much flow is blocked form the OEM filter air box top design. AMG had this issue for at least 15 years.

These are high quality re-usable filters (Made in USA) and yes, you just wash them off with filter solution. This saves a lot of money over the life of the car VS buying dealer paper filters all the time. This is the first mod I do to all my vehicles.

Lol I got my UPD spacer intake kit yesterday, had one on my E63 too. Lots of people have dyno'd their before and after to show good gains from these, and there were also some who showed some power loss or negligible gains. YMMV.

If the stock filter really sits like this in the airbox, I can't see how the UPD filter would be any worse. I never put much stock in the extra horsepower bit but having a filter that can be washed and re-used is nice.

No change, but possible placebo effect car feels like it pulls harder above 3K rpms.
