2016 C63S Extremely Quiet Downshifts in S+

Hi everyone,

About a month ago I took my car in for a software update (https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...443b526575.jpg).

Everything was good and there lots of crackles going over 3k RPMS but now whenever the car naturally downshifts in S+ mode the sound is extremely muted with no crackles or pops at all. This seemed to have happened all of a sudden as it was fine a couple of nights ago.

Would anyone happen to know why or have experienced anything similar?

I have not but would have to guess it was the software update. I’d take it back in and let them know what happened.

A similar thing happen in my fathers '15 ML63 but with upshifts, it lost the amazing 'fart' noise when upshifting.
He took it back and they tweaked the new software update and added that nice sound back.
The dealership should be able to fix this for you, worst case you downgrade back to the previous software version.

Cheers!
