Help with Tune/Downpipe Selection.

First and foremost, I have a 2018 C63S.

Ive been trying to page through and find everyone’s reviews on downpipes. I’ve read it both ways: get them or don’t get them. Can I essentially get a final verdict? Obviously the downpipes will be installed with a tune from below, but the power increase needs to be worth their installation - if it’s not a noticeable power increase, then it doesn’t seem worth it. Thoughts?

Last, I’m fighting with myself back and forth on the Velos Designwerks or Eurocharged tune. Velos claims 109BHP increase and Eurocharged is claiming close to 120BHP. Does anyone have any feedback on either? Again, both of these are getting potentially paired with DPs, unless the added cost of DPs isn’t worth their hassle. Thoughts on which tune?

Thanks for your feedback.

wow i wrote a response and it somehow didnt post
stage 1 is great
stage 2 better as long as you do not mind it being VERY loud. i have catless with AWE and it is very loud. worth the money and def feel more power from stage 1

tuners all about the same and both companies are reputable. 11hp discrepancy i would not worry about. just go with the one that you want. now that it is OBD flashable its much easier

I just got some DP's from Shardul... he's been awesome to work with -- really great customer service and communication. His DP's look high quality in pictures and I've gotten good feedback from other buyers... I'll be posting a review as soon as I get them. But as for final verdict, I went through the same battle in my head, but everyone always ends up wanting more noise, so they all end up going for the cattless DP's eventually. You don't get cattless DP's for power on these cars -- DEFINITELY not worth the price of DP's and install for 30hp... they're just for the noise.

As for the tune, I went with Eurocharged because I went with the group buy from Shardul... amazing deal. I am also familiar with Eurocharged, being from Texas myself, and they are really well known with the W204 crowd. Jerry has been great to work with as well.

That said, I also had some back and forth discussion with Velos Tuning and they seem to be very responsive and knowledgeable as well... I don't think you'd go wrong with either tune, to be honest... I ended up picking Eurocharged over other tunes due to their reputation with the W204 crowd and the amazing bundle deal from Shardul.

^x2...Shardul’s DP’s are nicely engineered and great price point. I also ceramic coated them to keep under hood temps down.

I had PP-Performance when I had my C63 and couldn't be happier. They easily put up the best gains compared to other tunes.

I had Eurocharged on my 2014 E63 with catless DPs and it was an absolute monster. I went with Eurocharged again for my C63s coupe and no regrets. I'd definetly do catless downpipes with the tune.

I'd keep the factory downpipes, not worth the odor and noise for what amounts to minimal power gains.

And for the tuning definitely check out the JB4. Worth it for the E85 optional maps alone.
