Interior Rattles

Hey everyone!

I bought my ‘17 C63 early this year and although I love the car I’ve found that the interior seems to rattle a lot. Like more than my old ‘14 Camaro where the previous owner removed the door panels to install crappy cosmetic mods and broke a bunch of the clips. It seems to me that most of the rattles are coming from the panoramic roof, since when the roof is open it seems to be a lot less noticeable. Although that may just be because there’s more ambient noise. I’ve tried buying genuine Mercedes-Benz grease for the rails but that didn’t seem to work. I’ve scoured the forums here and haven’t seen much in the way of actually fixing the issue. I’m very OCD about interior rattles and this is driving me insane. Has anyone been able to definitively figure out and remedy these rattles? I love this car but I’m pretty close to trying my luck with a similar year M4. Seems crazy that a $90,000 car that’s only 2 years old with just over 20k miles on it rattles this much! Thanks in advance!

I've only had mine for a year, but so far every rattle I've had, I've been able to attribute to some coins, or other object rattling in a cupholder or pocket. I thought I had a sunroof/dome light area rattle, until I realized it was my sunglasses in the "sunglasses holder" (sp?)

I've had the pano roof squeak (not rattle). It is because of the rubber weather strip brushing up against the panel. I remedied it by using silicon lube on the rubber strip and the squeak has gone. You do need to re-apply it every 6 months or so or it will come back.

Had the exact same issue with my 2017 c63 when I purchased it last December. Read about applying lube to fix the issue but just ended up taking it to the dealership. They fixed it for free (along with some other annoying rattles) under warranty. The pano roof ended up needing to be realigned. Now it's silent.

Pick up some Mercedes sliding compound (rebadged Krytox). It should last for years.
