Yeah I saw your video which looked like it. I can't find footage though of what DMP means by their orange sequential + blue or white light:

Did you buy from DMP as well?

I got mine from here, there is 3 logos option. I also asked them to customize high-definition door lights before, they have their own factory.

Thanks for sharing, that's a much more reasonable price for two LED projectors.

Seems that not only there are different versions in brightness the actual placement and size of "AMG" is different on some. I bought the ones Justin808 linked and these have the smaller logo up in the corner closer to the genuine gt option. Some of the others I'm seeing have the amg logo centered and much larger. I prefer the smaller amg - just something to keep into consideration if ordering.

These are the ones I installed linked form justin808. I have 360 cameras but no distronic - no flickering.

@tobeit I ordered a $60 set from Aliexpress and went to in install them today on my 2015 W205 and had the same exact issues as you. They just blink.

What's weird is that they work fine with a 9 volt battery or even using my 12 volt power adapter in the house.

Another weird thing is the brightness is exactly the same using the 9 volt or the 12 volt power adapter.

The blinking is caused by the current limiting circuit in your car. You need to add the serial resistor as I explained above to reduce the max current the lights can draw and all will be well. The fact they are the same on both batteries is as the lights itself have a max current they can draw and as long as the battery can supply it the current to reach max power they work the same.

👍 hope you can make it work. Just make sure you use a high current rated serial resistor or otherwise it could heat up a bite

With enough feedbacks. The MFG should fix this issue.

Can you suggest brand/type of resistor? I am not an electronics expert , but I can check mouser.com

My set tested at 255mA with a 9 volt battery.

yep, possible.

I need to find my old notes and see what resistor I used.

Since mine seem to look bright even at 9volts thought i would try these to fix my issue.

Difference between 12 volt and 9 volt (barely noticeable)

as long as voltage is high enough to turn it on it want matter what voltage you use...the lower the Voltage the higher the current will just be. But the current is controlled aka limited as our cars provide just 12V on all accessories.

These will not help you. I found my notes. I used a 65Ohm resistor to bring the current down from 235mA to about 120mA.

To avoid that the resistor gets too hot use a high watt rated resistor. I used a 1/2 Watt because that Is what I had on hand. It was a axial carbon film resistor with 10% tolerance, It heats up a little but not dangerously. I spliced it into the hot 12V supply on the LED, shrink wrapped it and mounted it suspended aka not touching anything inside the mirror housing.

Attached a pic of it installed. You can see the black shrink wrap.

Good luck!

I got mine working I used 10 ohm 2% resistors 1/2 watt = 170 mA

tobeit, when you talk about the resistor getting hot that would only be while the projector is on right? If so wouldn't it take an extended period of time with the door open and the projector on for the resistor to really warm up?

That's correct therefore I was okay with the 1/2W rated resistor. Even if on for extended period it gets warm but not burning hot like LED load resistors. Because I am just super cautious I also installed it suspended aka not touching any soft plastics.
