Back from Dealer - NEW ECU SW and Battery Tray Fix?
I took the car in on Monday for it's annual oil change, this was a service B at 9,500 miles. While there they checked for some "Battery Box" potential recall thing, mine needed it. Now that I recall when I disconnected the NEG batt terminal for my JB4 install there was a price of foam just floating around by the battery on the back side. I found that it belonged on the top of that battery so I put it there, may it has to do with the hold down ties of the battery (my SA did not have a lot of detail). Also while there said my car needed ECU update, once they saw my wiring the called to ask if the car was tuned as this would wipe that, I was honest and said it was a piggy back system and not to worry. They did the flash and I got the car back that afternoon.
It drives quite different, shift points are improved at part throttle no more slams into 2-3 at low speed/RPM that used to make the car shutter. Also it seems to have more power, even in Comfort mode I was breaking loose and it seems to pull harder in all modes. Pops and Crackles were the same if not better.
I got a call today to schedule the return to put in the battery fix stuff...but then they told me there is another "new ECU update" that came out after the one I just received! I asked for details but my SA has not found any yet, said he doesn't see anything in the MBZ portal yet? Any Techs in here that know what this ECU update contains? Hopefully it won't neuter the pops-crackles or the seemingly new found power? I actually though I had left the car in MAP1 on my JB4 but then realized I had not even plugged it back in yet at the OBDII ALDL 😄
